I've been away for a while, but I'm back with more stories to share from the soundscapes I've been exploring. In this episode, We refresh our memories about soundscapes, hear some of the sounds I've been recording over the past year's absence, and consider the ways we all experience soundscapes differently. Welcome back!
We explore a C.S. Lewis Story and consider why two characters experience the creation of Narnia in such different ways.
A note about the recordings in this episode: I had permission to record (00.58) at the Lakota powwow at the Black Hills Field Station in the summer of 2025. I had my recorder hidden in the tall grasses surrounding the powwow. I was hoping to hear the soundscape like it may have been before the removal act. I appreciate the friendship extended so that I could record the drum in the Black Hills... Hearing it sounded like a friend returning. Other sound recordings in this episode were shared with me by friends. Sound recordings of lion, hippos, and elephant were provided by Dr. Emily Langan. The sound recording of Strawberry, the horse was provided by Andi Reber.
